Awareness of one’s responsibilities towards the society and country is a very important lesson that one learns in school. An outreach program was organized by the Income tax department as a part of ‘Aazadi ka Amritmahotsav’ celebrations on 29th June 2022.The students of class 10th and 12th of St. Karen’s High School participated in the program. The basic objective of the program was to make the students aware about the different taxes and the need to pay taxes. Neha Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax Patna, guided the students about the basic concept of tax and the relationship between tax and nation building. The students were guided about the three basic steps to pay taxes and file returns. The session was very interactive as the enthusiastic students asked many questions and clarified their doubts, this was followed by a small quiz conducted by the Income tax team, many students answered the questions and won the prizes, which were awarded by the team.
Such specific skills, which were imparted by the Income tax team will empower the students and make them more mindful of their responsibilities as a good citizen.
