The 75th Republic day was celebrated at St. Karen's high school with great enthusiasm. The programme started with the hoisting of the tricolour by Director Sir, Shefali Ma'am and Seema Ma'am followed by the national anthem. Richa Thakur Ma'am in her welcome speech highlighted the importance of the day by narrating a poem in Maithili followed by a patriotic song ‘Ae mere watan ke logon’ sung by Papiya Ma'am. Next was a speech in Hindi by Rakhi Ma'am in which she spoke about the sacrifice of our freedom fighters and the contribution of our leaders in making of the Constitution. Preeti Ma'am spoke about Major Somnath Sharma one of the recipients of Paramvir Chakra followed by patriotic song sung by the students. Next came the much-awaited programme of the day conducted by Principal Ma’am - the Quiz in which everyone- students, teachers, office staff and even the support staff participated eagerly. Our Director Sir addressed the gathering on this occasion and appreciated the diversity in our country and also asked the students and teachers to have ambition in life and work on it in a planned way to be successful. Shefali Ma'am motivated the gathering with her words of inspiration. The programme ended with a vote of thanks given by Vice Principal Sir.
