A Debate competition was conducted on 1st of July 2025 for the students of class 8 in the Pamela Hall. There were 20 students (Two from each section) from class 8 participated in this event with great enthusiasm. The topic for the debate is ‘Online Shopping: Their future in India.
The aim of organizing debate competition was to hone the public speaking skills of the students and teach them to be articulated while expressing their thoughts and opinions. The session was the kaleidoscope of opinions, thoughts and perspective that enhanced the knowledge and understanding about the different views of online shopping and their consequences.
The competition was unfolded in three carefully crafted rounds:
Round One – Speech and Introduction, where the teams laid down their foundation.
Round Two – The Rebuttal Round, where teams tested each other’s logic with sharp and spontaneous questions.
And finally, Round Three – Argument and Debate, the ultimate battleground of ideas.
To begin with, each participant spoke their mind on the rationale for, the execution of and the potential effects of online shopping. Points presented were accepted by the spectators with cheers and claps. Some of the points even made us think about the facts. There was so much talent in the room. Arguments were made and roved. The competition was so interesting with the exchange of student’s perspective by equally stating the merits and demerits of online shopping. The event was judged by P.C. Das Sir and Huma Thomas Jerrine Ma’am.
