A career counselling session regarding the civil services was organized for the students of St. Karen’s High School. The speaker for the session was Mr. Nishikant an IFS officer currently stationed in the Phillipines who is also an alumni of St. Karen’s High School, Patna.
The speaker was greeted with a thunderous amount of claps and eagerness on the faces of the students to learn from the IFS officer himself.
Mr Nishikant began addressing the students from grades 8-12 by introducing himself and describing his job. He gave the students an insight about the stages of becoming an IFS officer, the various courses one has to take and examinations to pass to finally reach the goal.
He expressed how prestigious it feels to represent his country in a foreign land while cruising in a thunder cat with the Indian flag on the hood.
He guided the students regarding UPSC exams, different courses, interviews and simultaneously narrating his journey, he encouraged the attendees to present their doubts.
This interactive and enlightening session saw a great participation of the students and culminated with the vote of thanks proposed by the Principal of St. Karen’s High School.
