The PCM group of St. Karen’s high school visited IIT Patna. A campus that is a dream of many young students. The students were taken around the campus by Dr. Priyanka Tripathi faculty of IIT Patna and her team of young research scholars.
The students visited different labs of Physics, Chemistry, NMR Labs, Glyco chemistry labs etc. and had a great opportunity of understanding about some sophisticated instruments.
Prof Ajay D Thakur and Dr. Santosh Kumar of Physics Department IIT demonstrated some experiments like the Helmholtz square experiment, experiment related to strength of electromagnetic waves and refraction of light using rectangular glass slab and prism . Experiments related to sound wave, using cathode ray oscilloscope and Tyndal effect were also demonstrated.
Many topics like Thermionic emission, Lorentz force etc. were explained. The Professors encouraged the students for competing IIT entrance examination and achieving their dreams. The students collected a broad overview of reputed institution and were encouraged to labour hard to turn their dreams into reality.
