On 30th January, 2014, the SPICMACAY conducted spectacular performance of Padmashree Madhavi Mudgal, Indian Ace Odissi danseuse who mesmerized the students and teachers of st. Karen’s High school. She was accompanied by Sri Gandhi mallik on the pakhawaj, Sri purna Chandra Manji on vocals and bols, Shrimati Mani Kuntala Bhowmick on vocal, Sri Yar Mohammad on the sitar and Shalakha Rai her student.
The programme started with a welcome speech.
She began her performance with a prayer dance to Lord Jagannath followed by Pallavi and ended with an “Abhinaya”. She also interacted with the students. She emphasized that if one really has firm determination for music and dance, one will definitely find time for it in spite of the busy study schedule.
Such type of programmes in schools will definitely help the students to be rooted to the Indian culture. She was honoured with a momento by the director Mr. D.P. Galstaun and Principal Mrs Seema Singh.
