On the eve of Earth Day i.e 21st April, 2017 a special assembly was organized by the primary wing of St. Karen’s High School. Students from Std – V conducted the assembly with zeal. The assembly began with the morning prayer and was followed by a special performance where in a group of students sang a special song “ Reduce”, Reuse and Recycle” while another group performed on it. The students wore colourful dresses and held branches of different trees. A quiz was also conducted by the students on the theme of Earth Day. All the questions revolved around our planet and environment Enthusiastic response was generated. The assembly concluded with prize distribution for the winners of poster making and extempore which was held on a day prior. The vice-principal, Mrs. Anjana James after giving away the prizes was all praise about the hard work, sincerity and dedication shown by the students who within a short period of notice snatched 6 prizes out of the 15 in offer and also bagged a consolation prize. She also acknowledged the teachers for their efforts in helping the students to prepare for the competition in a day’s time. The assembly reinstated the need of conservation of our mother earth and the pivotal role students can take in it.
