GOLDEN JUBILEE QUIZ

Life is a journey. The path we take, what we look back on, and what we look forward to is up to us. We determine our destination. It has indeed been a long and enriching journey of fruitful 50 years of St. Karen’s High School, Patna. Not academic excellence alone, but holistic development in the students is the goal of every successful institution. Keeping this in view, St. Karen’s High School, in association with Encyclopedia Britannica had organized an Inter School Golden Jubilee Quiz Competition in the school premises with a preliminary round on the 14th of November 2014. 18 eminent schools of Bihar participated in it.

The qualified six teams stood before a large appreciative hall of students, teachers and guardians at Rabindra Bhawan around 3.00 p.m. on 15th November 2014, Saturday. The quiz master of the Golden Jubilee Quiz was none other than the vibrant, enigmatic, versatile Siddhartha Basu – a name to reckon with in the quizzing world. Right from the beginning, there was a feeling of high excitement in the atmosphere. The nail biting tension of the participants was contagious and affected the audience as well.

The Golden Jubilee Quiz finals started with the Golden Jubilee Song by the students and the lighting of the auspicious lamp by the Chief Guest Mr. Vijoy Prakash IAS, Principal Secretary, Transport, Bihar, Mr. D P Galstaun, Director of St. Karen’s group of schools, Mrs. L B Galstaun, the Secretary of the school, and Mrs. Seema Singh, the Principal.

Mr. Vijoy Prakash IAS, the Chief Guest had consented to grace the occasion with his benign presence. In his speech he congratulated the students and encouraged them. He said, in this competitive world, it is imperative to develop an over all personality. Mr. D.P. Galstaun, the Director applauded the competitive spirit of the participants who had made the competition so entertaining.

The enthralled silence and the enthusiastic applause proved that the audience were very much a part of the competition since they too won some prizes with their frequent answers thrown by the Quiz Master Mr. Siddhartha Basu. There were six rounds in all, of which the rapid fire round had been most exciting.

Loyola School, Kurji, Patna emerged as The Winning Team,

Don Bosco Academy, Patna was the 1st Runners-up and

D.A.V. Public School, Khagaul was the 2nd Runners-up.

Each participant was given a participation certificate at the end of the show.
